Paul  Harbidge is a geologist with 30 years of experience in mining exploration and development with a proven track record of discovering world class gold deposits. He has a First-Class Honours Degree in Geology from Kingston University, London, UK and a Masters of Science in Mineral Exploration and Mining Geology from Leicester University, UK.

He is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer Faraday Copper. Prior to this, Paul was the President and Chief Executive Officer Faraday Copper of GT Gold and led the company to a CA$456 million acquisition by Newmont Mining Corp. (“Newmont”) in May 2021. Prior to this Paul was the Senior Vice President of Exploration at the multinational gold mining company Goldcorp Inc. from 2016 until its acquisition by Newmont in April 2019. Prior to that, Mr. Harbidge successfully led the Exploration Team at the gold miner Randgold Resources Limited, resulting in five major gold discoveries including the +5Moz Gounkoto deposit in Mali and the +4Moz Massawa deposit in Senegal.

Mr. Harbidge is a Director of Fireweed Metals Corp. with projects in Yukon, Canada, and a technical advisor to Japan Gold Corp. (Japan), Maple Gold Mines Ltd. (Quebec) and Kalo Gold Corp. (Fiji).

Matt is a highly experienced and seasoned mining sector executive with over 25 years of industry experience successfully navigating complex markets to generate value for shareholders. He has  an MSc in Economic Geology from the Camborne School of Mines. He has a strong and diverse track record established across exploration, strategy, capital markets, project and royalty generation, risk management and extensive Africa operating experience.

Matt is currently VP of  Value Creation and Portfolio management at  VerAI , a mineral asset portfolio company.

Matt Co-founded several successful exploration & project generator businesses including most recently Elemental Altus Royalties. Involved with > US$250m of transactions including capital raises, IPOs, M&A, joint ventures, asset spin outs and project sales. Significant team building experience covering multiple jurisdictions. Proactive approach to addressing the significant talent gap the mining industry faces.
